So far I have two potential dance partners :) Yeah for me! I love being silly. I wish I could be more silly more of the time. I've been told that principals are supposed to be serious. Principals are supposed to dress a certain way. I think I'm the only principal who doesn't wear a tie. This is very noticeable when I'm at the principals' meetings. When I do wear a tie, some of my colleagues tease me...but they do it in a nice way. It's actually kind of funny. Ties are uncomfortable. I'm not a big fan of ties. At least I don't smell. I think I don't smell. That should count for something. Right? When I was in the classroom, I loved making my kids laugh. I loved doing fun things for and with them. It built such a great community. I think I was a fun teacher. Hopefully I taught the kids a few things too. It probably wasn't math, LOL! Sometimes I really really really miss having my own set of 35 kids to mess with! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes to act silly around kids and enjoys making them laugh!!! BTW, did I mention I can bust a mean Cha Cha Cha...
... and why would you want or need to wear a tie? Does wearing a tie make you a better principal? I think not. You could wear your, uh, uh, Sponge Bob shor.. uh, slippers and be the same fantastic principal that you are. Being silly, being comfortable makes for a great learning environment. It makes the kids feel comfortable and safe and then the magic of learning will happen. Anyway, that's what I think. Maybe others think differently and that's what makes the world go round ...
I bet you were a fantastic teacher..I get the biggest kick out of my students and love to laugh with them. Although they do not always get my sillyness since they are so young. You do a great job of making the staff meetings enjoyable...I definitely laugh at some of your comments (especially the ones that you get worried about)
