I had a chance to talk to Lucy today. She's in New York learning about Columbia writing. I'm so jealous. She and other principals have been visiting schools to check out the writing. I'm so jealous!!! I want to go to New York!!! She reported it was very cold. I'd much rather go in the summer. Although a snow covered Central Park sounds nice. She was bragging about how she was hanging out with Carl Anderson and Lucy Calkins. Whatever.

I am also jealous also! I think that would be so exciting to go to the training... But also to go when school was in session and see the inside of a New York City inner city school, and see the workings of the writing and reading workshops working together would be a dream! Lucky lucy...
Lucky Lucy indeed.
I think the most inspiring part of my visit was being able to walk through classrooms. The schools visited were ALL on the same page, not cookie cutter like, but all talking the same language!
New York was great! ha ha!
