A member of our school family passed away on Monday. She had been sick for the past year. We knew this day would come, but we hoped it would take the long scenic route. Juli was such an inspiration to me and all of our teachers. I learned so much about teaching, writing, and laughing from her. You know how there are people you meet and you feel kind of dumb around them because they know so much more than you do (but THEY never make you feel dumb - in fact they make you feel special)...and you want to listen to every single word they say so you can become smarter and not feel so dumb anymore? Well, for me, that person was Juli. I'll always cherish our time together - teaching journalism, talking about books and writing, looking over the incredible work our kids were doing as authors...even the brief morning duty chit chats. Thank you for teaching us all Juli. We will continue your work, that's a promise!
