Today was a day filled with "Treasure Moments." The first "Treasure Moment" occurred when a first grader came up to me in the office and flashed his five dollar bill asking if he could buy a Dr. Seuss hat. I had to tell him that we were sold out. The saddest look covered his face. So I told him I would sell him my hat for $20. Just kidding. I actually gave him my hat. He was so happy! His happiness made me happy. The next "Treasure Moment" was our Read Across America celebration. It was such a joy to see all the kids in their bought or made Dr. Seuss hats. Such a beautiful picture. Plus, I knew for the 30 minutes or so of the assembly they couldn't get into any trouble. Poster contest winners were announced. The Reader's Oath was said. The fifth graders sang their song. Very nice. During the day, I had a chance to read to three classrooms. I read Ugly Fish and Mr. Pusskins, A Love Story. I LOVE those books. I LOVE reading books to kids. Too bad there isn't any money in that gig. True "Treasure Moments."

We all love hearing you read stories - even the adults, not just the kids! Thanks for sharing those treasure moments. :)
